The study of the Sanguszko princely family

As we recently informed, within the framework of our project, work is underway to investigate the princely Sangushk clan. We bring to your attention one of the fragments of the study. This is just one of the few facts already confirmed by experts, exploring the life and activities of this kind in Volyn.

St. Nicholas Monastery of Miletus known since the beginning of the XVI century. The beginning of active activity of the monastery is connected with one event. According to legend, the owner of the land, Prince Fyodor Sangushko went hunting and came upon a monastery. Stunned by the picturesque countryside and poverty of the monastery, he promised to support the monastery.

Therefore, on May 23, 1542, Fedor Sangushko issued a certificate of donation to the monastery. "I attach to my church, to that monastery of mine, to Mieltsi my names are eternally and unbroken, and with all these, and now these names are in themselves, without leaving for anything," - the document reads. So, the elder Vladimir gave the monastery Pesochensky and Zadybsky yards, the villages Komarovo, Solovyevo, Nice, Sinovo and Pidinovka.
