On February 2, 2022, an online meeting was held on the territory of the Rivne community of the Kovel district with the Polish partners of the «Opalin: small towns - a big story» project, which is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union within the framework of the cross-border cooperation program Poland - Belarus - Ukraine 2014-2020 of the European Neighbourhood Instrument .
The partners and representatives of the project team discussed and agreed on the schedule of the event "Conducting master classes for school youth of Ukrainian and Polish territorial communities". The event will be aimed at restoring the role of local crafts and folk crafts as an important part of the cultural life of the border region.
Also, the project team visited the Lyuboml Museum of Local Lore to get acquainted with historical materials directly related to the town of Opalyn, which was founded with the permission of the Polish king in 1638 in a place near the Zahidny Bug River, where the Ukrainian-Polish border now runs.
