One of the main goals of the project "Virtual journey through the princely Sanguszko paths - open new pages of common Ukrainian and Polish history", implemented with the financial support of the European Union in the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Program Poland - Belarus - Ukraine 2014-2020 European Instrument, Creating a European Instrument promotion of a common thematic cross-border tourist route that would promote the historical and cultural heritage of Volyn and Lublin.
The newly created route will be linked to the history of the princely Sangushk family, who held important administrative, political and military positions in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Commonwealth, and directly touches the pages of the history of Volyn and Lublin Voivodeship.
Today, there are many written sources and archival materials that relate to the history of the Sangushk princes, but they are scattered and under-researched. In view of this, the project provides for a study to study their lives and activities in Ukraine and Poland. In recent months, two experts from Ukraine and Poland have been studying and analyzing relevant materials - both open source and archived. Historians are trying to determine the whereabouts of princely representatives, the events associated with them, and their timeline. Soon we will have systematic data on which the concept of tourist route will be developed.
