Promotional tour "Prince Sangushko's Family By-Ways"

On September 9, 2020, as part of the project "Prince Sanguszko's Family By-Ways Virtual Tour - let's reveal new pages of shared Ukrainian and Polish history", which is implemented with the financial support of the European Union under the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020, we organized a trip promotion on the Polish part of the cross-border tourist route marked out as part of the project. The route was conceived as a cross-border trail in the footsteps of the Sanguszko princely family, which, like no other, connects the common fate of the inhabitants of today's Poland and Ukraine. The project partners explored the fate of the family which began in the 15th century and continues in the person of Paweł Franciszek Roman Sanguszko. Then, all material traces in the Volyn Oblast and Lublin Voivodeship were described, which were combined into one trail.

The Polish part of the trail runs through Włodawa, Kijany, Lubartów, Rudno, Lublin, Jakubowice Murowane, Kraśniczyn and Dub, and with the Ukrainian part, within the Volyn Oblast, including: Włodzimierz Wołyński, Horochów, Łuck, Kowel, Mielce, Kamień Koszyrski and Jarewiszcze, it connects through the border crossing in Dorohusk.

The project assumed that we would check this trail together to find out for how long it should be planned and which attractions should be recommended to tourists. Unfortunately, the closure of the borders due to Covid-19 has verified these plans, so each partner went separately with a group of people related to tourism and promotion of the region to tour their part of the route, then meet at a videoconference and share impressions and conclusions.
